ABOUT THE EXHIBITION
This exhibit brings together ten artists whose practices are rooted in transformation and experimentation. Moving beyond traditional artistic mediums, the artists engage with unexpected, industrial, organic, and repurposed elements as integral components of their work.
Through alteration, accumulation, construction, and reinvention, familiar substances are shifted from utility to expression. This exhibition is not simply a visual outcome but an active methodology. Each work reflects a commitment to rethinking how art is formed, challenging conventional hierarchies of medium and inviting viewers to reconsider the boundaries of contemporary practice.
At its heart, Expanded Metamorphosis is about change—how transformation can reveal beauty, meaning, and value in unexpected places. This exhibition encourages curiosity and close looking, celebrating the creative potential found in pushing boundaries and rethinking how art is made.
Featured artists: Dan Payton, Eggman, Jan Huling, Jinstar, Jesse Aviv, Suzan Globus, Tay Dun, Tina Maneca, Valerie Huhn and Vincent Minervini
Andrea McKenna, Gallery Director, Art House Productions, says:
"I created this exhibition to highlight how artists evolve their work through the use of diverse and unconventional materials to shape their narratives. I visited most of the artists’ studios and personally selected each piece that will be on view. It was a pleasure to connect with these artists on a more personal level and to experience their work within their creative environments. This insight allowed me to better understand their processes and gain a deeper appreciation of them as artists."
